TITLE: TOME ARCHITECT: Juster Pope Frazier Architects LIGHTING: Color Kinetics DATE: 2006 TOME is a programmable lighted, siteline specific sculpture employing structural glass and steel in a series of sequential sections. Viewers experience the work first as a whole, then as an unfolding of individual details –representing the process of moving through a book's pages. The tactile quality of the glass relates to the visual metaphor of text and the physical presence of a book, and speaks to the picture book's ability to allow the reader to build on complex ideas – from the visual to the literal.
